A platform for Ghana's emerging voices
A Paper Merchant initiative, and our way of giving back to the industry we operate in, the Bannerman Awards is an annual creative writing and storytelling competition committed to empowering local voices, enhancing skills in creative, media and journalism disciplines, and supporting credibility and ethical standards in storytelling and journalism.
The awards honour Charles Bannerman, founder of the Accra Herald in 1857, later known as the West African Herald, recognising a pioneering contribution to West African journalism and the enduring value of credible, independent storytelling.
